The Body Shop Vanilla Brulee Bath Jelly Review

January 26, 2016

Hey Guys,

I hope that all of you guys are good!

So way back around last January I bought a hell of a load of fun bath-y items from The Body Shop. I have gotten round to using pretty much all of the items at least a couple of times, so I thought I should start doing some reviews on them!
The Body Shop Vanilla Brulee range was a Christmas exclusive therefore was completely o clearance when I went to The Body Shop in January. I bought it with a plethora of other items (a haul coming soon) I think I haven't used as much because I don't have baths very frequently and this is a bath item. However, I have gotten pretty much a third of the way through or so, so I thought it would be a good time to review it.

So as I said before I bought this item on clearance for a high discount on the price. I would suspect that it is the same quality as other Bath Jellies that The Body Shop does, but I do not believe that you can get this one anymore because it was a Christmas limited edition.

So the Vanilla Brulee Bath Jelly is meant to be used in tiny portions for intense bubbly pleasure.
It gives off a gorgeous soft vanilla scent which lasts quite a long time.

In the store they are meant to give you a spatula for the product, however I didn't get one, so I thought an accurate enough measurement would be with a teaspoon.
I have used this several times now, and I tend to use about two teaspoons of it in a bath now, just to get a stronger scent.

I love the vanillery sweet smell. Straight from the container I do think that it is quite sickly sweet, otherwise in the bathroom when you have put some of the product into your bath it is a lot more gentle, but the vanilla scent is gorgeous.

What I dislike about this product is that the bubbles never last. By the end of a bath I am left in dirty, boring lukewarm water. This means that I have to constantly add more and more bath jelly. Or an alternative which might literally blast the scent away is adding a cheap bath foam that lasts.

Overall rating:

Thanks for reading!

This Raging Light by Estelle Laure: Review

This Raging LightThis Raging Light by Estelle Laure
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I don't think that there is much else to say other than the fact I absolutely adore this book and it was one of the best reads of 2015. Potentially one of my favourite books of all time.
I did get this book free for review from goodreads, however that honestly did not affect my opinion of this book.
I also got this book free from Maximum Pop Books for doing their Secret Santa in 2015 and nor did that affect my review in any way, shape or form.

This Raging Light by Estelle Laure is the phenomenal story of a girl called Lucille and her sister Wren as they survive without their parents and are completely left to their own devices when their mother walks out on them. Lucille is only seventeen which meant that she still has school and friends and the responsibilities of a teenager while also being tasked with having to find a way of earning an income and taking care a small child alone.

The plot of the book was so good in my opinion. I didn't find it that cliche or typical when I read it, and some things I had no idea were coming, but I am pretty bad at that. (I don't want to spoil things for you, so all I'll say is that I have to read a couple of things over two or three times just because I was... so shocked and confused)

The writing style was super good. Laure's writing was really toying with my emotions through the novel and was super compelling and drove me to read huge chunks in such short spaces of time.

I have seen other books dealing with this type of topic but I feel like this was definitely the best so far. I completely adored the main character, Lucille, and I really felt like I could relate to her. I loved her little sister, Wren, who was super cute and felt like my little sister too. I really liked the majority of characters except Digby and Eden's Mum, I found her a little annoying but only at one point in the story.

Knowing that this is Laure's debut novel makes me want to take every copy of every one of her future books. Forever. She is amazing and her work is something I know that I won't get enough of.
This book really exceeded expectations that I previously had and I highly recommend that everyone goes to pick up this novel because you really see a new perspective and it was absolutely brilliant. Excellent. Magnificent. I am running out of adjectives.
